Heat recovery

Every cooling system produces heat: heat that, in most cases, disappears unused into the air. With heat recovery, this residual heat is captured and used directly for space heating or hot water supply. You cool and heat with a single installation, without the need for an additional energy source.

The principle is simple: a heat exchanger on the existing or new cooling system recovers the released heat and transfers it to the heating system or hot water installation. In many cases, this makes a gas connection unnecessary.

Heat recovery delivers the greatest benefit in situations where cooling and heating are required at the same time. Examples include production environments, greenhouses or buildings with a high cooling demand and a constant heat demand.

Do you need heat at a higher temperature level than the cooling system alone can provide? In that case, a heat pump can further upgrade the residual heat: from low-grade process waste heat to usable heat of up to 95 °C.

Depending on the source, the required capacity and the desired supply temperature, a heat pump is designed with the most suitable refrigerant. Nijssen integrates both systems into one complete solution.
