Heating networks

District heating networks connect central heat generation with homes, commercial buildings and complete area developments. They are one of the most effective instruments for large-scale decarbonisation of the built environment, but they also place high demands on the installation that supplies the heat. Failure is not an option when hundreds or thousands of connections depend on a single system.

Nijssen supplies CO₂ heat pumps for district heating networks with capacities ranging from 1 to more than 16 MW, making them suitable for both smaller local networks and large-scale area developments.

Continuity as a design requirement

In district heating networks, operational reliability is not a preference, but a critical requirement. Our installations are designed to remain operational even in the event of a component failure. Spare parts are readily available for on-site replacement, and our service engineers are available 24/7.

From calculation to delivery, we accurately map the heat demand and heat flows within the network using climate simulation. This provides certainty about the design and delivers the technical substantiation required for subsidy applications, such as SDE++ and EIA. We then take care of engineering, production, installation and commissioning, with a single point of contact throughout the entire process.

Scalable capacity to match the project

With capacities of more than 16 MW per installation, we can support projects that fall beyond the scope of smaller heat pump suppliers. Whether it concerns a new residential development, an existing urban district heating network or an industrial heat network, we scale our solution to match the size and requirements of the project.
